Hi, We at Fulham Park Raceway run  plastic Carrera tracks.  We also run magnetic downforce of between 260g to 320g. depending on the class. There is a lot of comment that magnet racing is very easy & like driving a model train. We disagree with this and would say it takes a lot of practice and skill to win at our tracks. I have run on ferodore  & black board surfaces - without magnets and find them requireing some different technique but not any more skill than the plastic. I do have to say that some brands of plastic are courser than Carrerra and may require less magnet. If you think our plastic is easy here is the challenge - come & beat us on a race night or try one of our practice nights. Over to you for comment - A J
